MRI safety screening is the questionnaire a patient completes before an MRI to identify anything that makes the scan unsafe or needs review first, such as a pacemaker or other implanted device, metal fragments, pregnancy, or kidney problems relevant to contrast. Qualified staff review the answers before the patient enters the scanner room.
Screening that is incomplete on the day of the exam delays the scan or cancels it, and the slot is usually too late to refill. Collecting it before arrival is what protects the schedule.
